Nokia XL 4G launches in China, the last Finn Android hoorah

Microsoft has launched a 4G version of the Nokia XL in China. The phone features support for the country's D-LTE and TD-SCDMA 4G networks and has received a corresponding bump in the specs sheet.

More specifically, the phone now features 1GB of RAM instead of 768MB for the 3G version. It also packs an updated Qualcomm MSM8926 Snapdragon 400 chipset with a 1.2GHz quad-core CPU.

The 5" display still rocks a 800 x 480 pixel resolution, and the battery remains 2000mAh. At the back, there's a 5MP snapper capable of 720p. The new XL 4G is also considerably lighter. The 3G model weighs 190 grams, while the new one tips the scales at 158 grams.

This might as well be the last Android phone to carry the Nokia branding, as Microsoft CEO Satia Nadella announced the company is cutting the cord of the X line-up of smartphones alongside massive lay-offs. There's no information if the phone will ever be released outside China.
